<reviewbody>Great capture of snowy evening at Penns Peak filled with superb playing.

Railroad Earth continues to throw down quality (albeit in this instance short) shows on a consistent basis. The band truely listens to one another which is a rarity in todays jam rock schlock ridden concert world.

Standout tunes:

Black Bear is simply majestic. The ethereal sounding tune shines during this evening. Vocal harmonies are tight.

Daddy O gets all of our feet moving and gives the band a chance to stretch their chops.

Warhead>Stillwater rips the roof off the joint (wood timbers and all). The transition jam at the end of Warhead gets trippy to the point where you start to really ask yourself if the band is really playing acoustic instruments? Just as it nearly drops into utter chaos it resolves back into the bluegrass romp of Stillwater Getaway. Skehan's mandolin lines are superb and precise.

Sing For me brings us outta the chaotic soup and back down to earth for a bit of levity. Sung perfectly by Todd.

Crossing the Gap is one of my personal faves. From a songwriters perspective Carbone did a fine job of crafting a great tale of being roadweary and the beauty of knowing your close to home.

New Lee Highway>Fiddlee features dueling leads from Carbone and Skehan. The beauty of the way these two jam is how well they listen to each other and respect the space between notes and lines. Skehan gets out of the way, Carbone gets out of the way...back and forth...twin leads. Audio does it justice, but to watch it go down in front of you really hammers home the time these guys have taken in learning their craft.

And of course...a spot on version of The Wheel is a way to cap off an evening.

The taping team did a helluva job on this. The minor boomy sound you hear is from the venue, high ceilings and wood will do that. However, of many of the RRE tapes I've heard this definitely rises to the top.

Crank it up!</reviewbody>
